Tackling Illegal Drugs

Posted: Tue, 4th Sep 2018

The Alcohol and Drug Foundation's Good Sports Program is offering forums on Tackling Illegal Drugs. There's one in the Illawarra this month, or you can find out more via the Good Sports Website.

Pony Club members are invited to attend a Tackling Illegal Drugs forum in your area.

This is a great opportunity for your club to be part of our Tackling Illegal Drugs program and learn more about what to do if you’re faced with an illegal drugs issue. You'll also discover local services that are available to help you provide support to families and friends involved in your club who are affected by this issue.

Illawarra forum details:
Date: Wednesday 19 September
Location: Illawarra Steelers Club, Cnr Burelli & Harbour Streets, Wollongong
Time: 6:30 pm for 7:00pm start - 9:00pm close

This program is funded by the Australian Government and run by the Alcohol and Drug Foundation's Good Sports program.

How does it work?

Good Sports will work with your club to develop and implement an illegal drugs policy that suits the needs of your club. For more details about the program, visit the Good Sports website.

The forum gives clubs a great opportunity to learn more about tackling illegal drugs and why it's such an important issue to prioritise.

It helps clubs become better prepared to address drug-related issues. With over 40% of Australians aged 14 and over having tried an illegal substance, chances are somebody at your club has been affected by illegal drugs.

Make sure you, and another member from your club register to attend via the link above. If you aren’t the right person to attend this forum, please forward this email to the correct club member.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact your local Good Sports representative, or you can email

We look forward to seeing you there!

The team at Good Sports.
