Snowy River Pony Club, Zone 18 meets every last Sunday of the Month at Berridale PC Grounds or the Dalgety Showground. The club has been running for years and currently has approximately 24 riding members ranging in age from 2 to 25 and 7 non-riding members who are our valued volunteers.
The club offers instruction in the following disciplines; Showjumping, dressage, eventing, mounted games and sporting as well as lessons in proper horse care and safety. A typical rally day involves gear check at 10am. The riders are then split into 2 groups for different skills before a BBQ lunch. The seniors then have an afternoon session also. Other fundraising, or social events run at Snowy River Pony club include catering at the Coolamatong Country Club once a month, an annual gymkhana and a major raffle.
The best thing about being a member of Snowy River Pony Club is getting into town to catch up and socialise with friends whilst having fun and learning with our horses. It also give the families a chance to catch up as we live in a rural area and many families run farms so don't get much time off. In summer, the kids love taking the horses for a swim in the Snowy River at the end of a rally day.
