Australian Sports Foundation Athlete Survey

ASF is hoping to gain a greater understanding of the impact on athletes so that we can continue to make approaches to various sectors to help support sport following the devastating impact of this pandemic.

The ASF is a not for profit organisation and Australia's peak body for philanthropy in sport. They have assisted in raising close to $500m for sport since the 1980's and in the last few years alone have helped raised $5m+ for aspiring and representative athletes.

In May and June this year ASF carried out a survey to assess the impact of COVID-19 on community sporting clubs and organisations. It is estimated that over 16,000 (1 in every 4) of these local sports clubs are at risk of closure due to financial losses and new costs associated with COVID-19.

ASF are now looking to launch a national campaign to help them access funds to recover from the impact of COVID-19, which were identified in our Survey Report.

But what about the athletes?
With travel restrictions, lockdowns, postponed and cancelled competitions, financial uncertainty and health implications due to COVID-19; this pandemic has surely had an impact on our athletes. ASF want to hear from athletes far and wide so they can do their part to support Australian sport and its athletes who continue to inspire us all to live an active and healthy life.

ASF has created a 10 minute survey to understand the impact on your funding as an athlete and support needed to help it recover.

Below is a link to information on why we are conducting this research and also links to the survey:

Athletes who complete the survey will go into the draw to win one of 2 x ISC SPORT apparel prize packs to the value of $250 each for their time.

The Survey will be closing in 2 weeks’ time on December 18th and they still need more athlete participants.
