Covid-19 Update, Insurance Reminder and Survey
Posted: Tue, 19th May 2020
Covid-19 update correct as at 19th May 20, a reminder about insurance and club survey to assist with the return to sport
By now you would all be aware of the easing of restrictions in NSW from the NSW Premier, while some sectors have been provided clear guidelines on the implementation of the easing of restrictions we are currently waiting on details of the return to sport framework from the Acting Minister for Sport Dr Geoff Lee and the Office of Sport, we hope to have some a response from them this week.
Once we have that framework PCA NSW will circulate details to members our phase in plans and documentation for resumption of pony club. Members are reminded that the insurance brokers have extended Personal Accident coverage during restrictions as below:
It is hereby declared and agreed with effect from 31 March 2020 to 31 December 2020 the following amendments are noted:
Due to restrictions imposed in respect of the COVID-19 crisis, the operative time in respect of Pony Club Riding Members is amended to read as follows:
Pony Club Riding Members
(excluding Open Competition Riders and Day Members)
24 hours a day 7 days a week in respect of all hazards which a member is exposed to whilst a member is engaged in non-income earning activities involving riding, caring for or handling horses or ponies, and travel to and from events, which are run by the insured.
This amendment will remain in force until such time as State and Federal government restrictions in respect of gatherings of multiple persons are lifted, at which time the operative time will revert to that in place prior to this Endorsement.
We have been in touch with the brokers to extend this cover for the remainder of the year however members, clubs and zones must comply with all NSW Public Health Orders and PCA NSW guidelines once circulated or they may compromise their position in the event of a claim.
As part of our preparations we ask that clubs and zones complete the survey via the link below to provide information which will help us finalise our guidelines, risk assessments and other documentation that may be needed.
