An update of available grants for athletes and clubs in New South Wales
Local Sporting Champions Grant
The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.
If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships
- Base Grant: $500
- Applicants travelling 800km - 1999km to their nominated championships: + $100
- Applicants travelling internationally or greater than 2000km to their nominated championships: + $200
- Applicants residing in a rural electorate: + $50
Applications are currently open until 11:59pm (AEDT) on 31 December 2020 for Round 3.

The Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program
The Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program provides NSW sports clubs and councils the opportunity to acquire an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) package for their club or sports club or sports facility at a reduced cost.
Up to $1 million in grants is available to eligible sporting clubs and facility owners to purchase and maintain AEDs.
An AED package will include:
- An AED
- AED familiarisation instruction
- A minimum of six years of essential AED maintenance
For information on eligibility, assessment dates, and approved providers, visit the Office of Sport website now. If eligible, submit an application before 12 April 2021.
COVID-19 Cross Border Sport Fund
The COVID-19 Cross Border Sport Fund is part of the NSW Government’s Community Sport Recovery Package, specifically targeting NSW border grassroot clubs and associations that have been impacted by COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Cross Border Sports Fund (the Fund) will support NSW based clubs and associations that are affiliated with a state level sporting organisation or association recognised in another State/Territory, that were not eligible to receive funding under the Grassroots Sport Fund. This is restricted to those clubs that are affiliated to an interstate organisation that is the equivalent of a SSO or SSOD recognised by the NSW Government. The type of sport must be recognised in NSW.

Budget Direct Sponsorships
Budget Direct are strong believers in supporting local communities and want to help groups throughout Australia in their efforts to build happy and healthy neighbourhoods. This sponsorship aims to help those striving to make a difference in their local community, but in need of financial assistance.
Budget Direct will provide sponsorship of $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 to support organisations who;
- provide local or statewide community services
- run community awareness and education programs
- promote health and wellbeing (e.g. sports clubs)
- advocate for road safety
- provide emergency services
- support in need or at-risk Australians
- help build strong, vibrant communities.
