Member Protection Information Officer Training

Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO) have an important role to play at all levels of sport.
The MPIO provides information about rights, responsibilities and options to an individual making a complaint or raising a concern in sport.
MPIO workshops are currently being delivered via video format (“webinar”) as a temporary alternative to face-to-face training. The webinar involves two 1-hour sessions and are currently free for sport and active recreation organisations.
The webinar consolidates online training and focuses on developing the skills needed to deal with people in the MPIO role. Topics covered include:
- MPIO Roles and Responsibilities
- Listening and responding effectively
- Conflict of interest and impartiality
- Communication and promotion of MPIO
- Next steps action list
- Useful resources and contacts
